Hawks Weekend Look Ahead:

The Nipawin Hawks are hitting the road for their first road trip of the 12/13 season, beginning with a Friday night showdown in Melville with the Millionaires.

The Mills have scored 26 goals through their first 5 games, a league high.

The Hawks have a 2-1-1 record and want to come home with 4 more points in the standings.

Assistant Coach Tyson Hobbins knows what his team needs to do to shut down the Millionaire offense.

"Take time and space away, (those good players) need time and space, and if we can take that space away we should be good."

He also stated "This is the first overnight trip for the team and this is going to be a good time for the boys to bond and spend time together."

The Hawks will look to Ryan Ostertag to continue to provide offense, as well as Mitch Doell and Tad Kozun.

Several Hawks forwards are underachieving and this weekend is a great chance for some of those players to step things up.

The Hawks will then use Saturday to travel to Yorkton, before visiting the Farrell Agencies Arena and the Terriers who call it home.

The Terriers have just one player with more than 1 goal to start the season, meaning depth may be an issue although it is too early in the season to predict.

Both games will begin at 7:30, with the pregame show beginning at 7:15 on both nights on the home of Country in the northeast, 105 CJVR. The game can also be heard online at yourtownnews.ca or by clicking here!
