Mustangs @ Weyburn Preview:

The Melfort Mustangs are in Weyburn tonight to take on the Red Wings, who have struggled lately winning just 1 of their previous 8 games. The Mustangs, meanwhile have lost 2 straight, dropping their record to 5-7-0-0 on the season.

These teams met 2 weeks ago in Melfort, and the Mustangs carried the pace of play for the majority of that game, winning 6-3 thanks to 3-point nights from each member of the top line; Brandon Formosa, Brandon Sloan and Jarrett Zentner.

Weyburn made a trade today sending Brendon Wilde to Estevan, meaning there will be one less familiar face in the Wings line up for the Mustangs to focus on.

In net, both teams have given mostly split duties. Jesse Wilkins and Patrick Johnson have both played over 250 minutes of hockey, while the Red Wings have iced 3 goaltenders, with of them seeing over 250 minutes of action.

Ryan Ostertag has given Weyburn a spark of light as of late, winning last weeks SJHL player of the week award. Ostertag, an ex-Nipawin Hawk, has put up 12 points in his first 6 games in Red and White.

The game can be heard online at yourtownnews.ca as well as on the radio dial on 105 CJVR!
