'Stangs Take Over 5th With Win In La Ronge:
Sceviour scored a hat trick in the win, including an empty netter in the late stages of the third. He had collected just a single goal in his previous 36 games in Melfort since coming over from Flin Flon 4 games in to the season.
Jamie Miller also had a big personal night, burying his first SJHL goal early in the 2nd period which would wind up as the Game Winning Goal, giving his shelf at home a puck for its collection.
Cole Hyrsky, Brandon Formosa, and Brennan Bosovich all provided singles for Melfort, who used the win to jump the Ice Wolves for the 5th and final playoff spot in the conference, improving their record to 17-23-2-2.
Formosa and Bosovich both added an assist as well, while Godric Tham, Brandon Sloan, Adam Fauchoux and Brady Goebel all added 2 point nights in a game that saw 4 goals be scored in a span of 1:35 to end the opening period. The game saw just one 2nd period goal followed by an explosive seven goals scored in the 3rd period.
La Ronge has a record of 17-26-0-3 and with 2 more games played than Melfort, the final 8 games of the season will need to result in the Ice Wolves earning the same amount as or more points than the Mustangs, who now have 10 games remaining.
Jesse Wilkins made 29 stops in the victory, whiles Myles Hovdebo had a busy night for the home side, stopping 39 in the loss.
