Scott Patterson(20th) and Sam Johnson(6th) also provided scoring for the Cents, who improved to 20-16-3-1 on the season with the win and now sit just two points back of Salmon Arm in the Interior Division Standings.
Devin Kero surrended a pair of goals in the opening 6:14, but bounced back with a 34 save effort which included several big saves to preserve his teams' chance to pick up two points.
Replying for Mike Vandekamp's Clippers was Luke Sandler, Bo Brauer and Ryan Forbes. Jayson Argue made 30 of 34 saves in the net for the Clippers, with an 11 save opening period marking his best 20 minutes.
The game featured many of the sparks and flames you would normally see in a heated division rivalry game, and powerplay numbers reflected that as the Clippers finished the evening at 0-for-4 while the Centennials converted in the 2nd period to go 1-for-6 on the powerplay.
The Vancouver Island trip will conclude on Saturday night, as the Centennials embark on a trip to the south Island to face the Victoria Grizzlies at Bear Mountain Arena.
