Schamerhorn Officially Assigned To Cents From WHL:

This was posted on the WHL Lethbridge Hurricanes website today. Jarod was signed by the Cents at the deadline and looks to be joining the team finally, and could be in the lineup as soon as this weekend(though I could be wrong).

The Centennials battle the West Kelowna Warriors this evening at the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena, for the first time since September 14th. It's the first game since December 13th between the two teams, as the warriors have taken all four games on the season series to date.

Game time tonight is 7:30, listen on Q101 at Q101.ca beginning at 7:00 or attend the game for great savings on tickets, as it's FAMILY FRIDAY! Families can get in for just $20.00, and on top of the four tickets, extra's will cost just $5.00!

Get yourself signed up for the February 11th fan bus at tonight's game! $40.00 all inclusive!

Here's the release:

Jarrod Schamerhorn sent to BC Hockey League

Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes announced Friday they have re-assigned Goalie Jarrod Schamerhorn to the Merritt Centennials of the BC Hockey League who own his rights.
The Hurricanes acquired the Kelowna, BC native at the January 10th WHL trade deadline from the Portland Winterhawks in exchange for a 7th round Bantam pick in 2014.
Prior to joining the Hurricanes, the 6’2, 189 pound netminder had played in 10 games with the Winterhawks posting a 3-2-0-0 record with a 4.40 GAA and .875 save percentage. He was acquired to help the Hurricanes goaltending situation with Teagan Sacher sidelined with an injury. In four appearances with Lethbridge, Schamerhorn was 0-2 with a .822 save percentage.

  1. No CHL team "assigns" a player to a CJHL team. Basically, Jarrod is released by Lethbridge and the Cents have his CJHL rights so that's where he winds up.
