Centennials Snag New Trainer, Bringing Kim Penner To Nicola Valley:

The Merritt Centennials are pleased to announce the hiring of Kim Penner as their new Athletic Therapist and Equipment Manager.

Penner replaces Hayley Hill, who spent a season with the Centennials before moving on to other opportunities.

Penner spent the 13/14 campaign in the BCHL with the Trail Smoke Eaters, where she served as Trainer for one season.

Kim brings a friendly smile to the rink on a daily basis and during her time in the BCHL, Merritt has always been one of her favorite destinations around the league in part to having family in the Nicola Valley.

"We are very excited to add Kim to our staff for the upcoming season," said Cents Head Coach and General Manager Luke Pierce. "She has the experience that we need and is a very professional and dedicated individual."

"After speaking with several references we are confident Kim is the right fit for us and we look forward to her getting started with us at our Evaluation Camp in June."

Kim joins the Centennials with an additional 5 years of experience in the BC Major Midget League, most recently with current Cent-Rhett Willxox and the Valley West Hawks.

"I am very excited to be the newest member of the Centennials organization. I am looking forward to working with the staff and players, as well as getting to know the great fans and community of Merritt! Here's to a long, successful, healthy season!" said Penner, who arrives with a Bachelor of Kinesiology Degree from the University of the Fraser Valley in Abbotsford, BC.

The entire Merritt Centennials organization would like to welcome Kim to her new home.

I am very excited to get to know Kim in the future, we had a great friendship during the Merritt vs Trail games and I feel as though she will be a great fit for Merritt and the Centennials!
