Centennials Golf Classic at Sagebrush Fast Approaching:

This is from the Merritt Herald, as written by Ian Webster. Also included below is a collection of pictures I've taken at the course, if you even question its' beauty!

The Merritt Centennials 2nd Annual Golf Classic at the majestic Sagebrush Golf and Sporting Club at Quilchena is just over a week away, and entries for the fundraising event on August 16 are filling up fast.

“We have room for just a handful of more teams of four,” said the Cents’ new marketing manager Dustin Scafe earlier this week.

“We’d love to hear from a few more local golfers who would like to take part. They can get in touch with me via email, at the Cents marketing office (located across from the post office) or by calling me at 250-378-3604.”

The format for the 2014 Cents Golf Classic will be similar to last year’s sold-out event.

There’ll be 18 holes of golf (four-ball scramble, shotgun start) commencing at 1 p.m. at the award-winning Sagebrush links, followed by a delicious barbecue dinner served by the Centennials Booster Club, a cash bar and silent auction.

“We have a lot of Cents alumni coming for the event,” Scafe said, “including Chris Forsberg, Bobby Vermette, Billy Muckalt, and Paul Kruse, along with current Centennials Malik Kaila, Rhett Willcox and Shane Paulsen.

“We’ve received a tremendous amount of support from the local business community,” Scafe said.

Participants can even arrange with him for accommodation at the Sagebrush, Scafe said, or take advantage of a free courtesy bus to and from town.

Silent auction prizes include an aerial tour of the Nicola Valley courtesy of Valley Helicopters, a geocaching package from Sun Country Tourism, a weekend getaway at Corbett Lake Lodge and lots of signed sports memorabilia from John Stuart Sports.

Again, please contact myself if you are interested in becoming an addition to our tournament! Email or call 250-378-3604!
